“Looking for a card like this”

Aer Credit Card Bank of Ireland Aer Lingus2 MIN READ

Tanja is Swedish with an Irish mother and German father.

She used to come over to visit family in Dublin and met her husband on one of her trips here in 1999.

When it came to deciding where to live, they chose Ireland because ‘I could speak English and my husband can’t speak Swedish.’

‘I was looking for a credit card like this,’ she says.

Using her Aer Credit Card for everything

‘When it was launched, I was like, ‘ah, finally,’ she says. ‘I was probably one of the first to sign up.’

Tanja says that she now uses her Aer Credit Card for everything.

‘Groceries, petrol, going out, buying airline tickets, obviously. Everything, pretty much. ‘

But she is careful to pay it off in full each month.

‘I know people get scared using a credit card, but, look, if you do your finances, pay it off each month and don’t buy things you can’t afford, then it’s not a problem.’

A sunshine break

Tanja and her husband have two kids.

‘A son and a daughter who are 13 and 15.’

With Aer Credit Card, you get 2 return flights to Europe1 each year – you pay the taxes, fees and charges.

The flights are available when you spend €5,0001 or more (except for excluded transactions).

The card also comes with worldwide multi-trip travel insurance2, 2 fast track and priority boarding passes3, and 2 airport lounge passes4.

So when they got their 2 return flights to Europe1 from Aer Credit Card they decided to go on a sun holiday.

‘We used the two return flights1 straight away,’ Tanja says. ‘We flew in to Malaga for a family holiday with plenty of sunshine and time on the beach.

She used her Aer Credit Card to pay for the two kids’ flights and earned even more Avios.
